There is something incredibly special about photographing a family during those first quiet weeks with a new baby. This Walnut Creek newborn session took place on a peaceful, foggy morning in one of Walnut Creek’s beautiful hillside neighborhoods, where a young family had recently settled into their dream home. They had just welcomed their first baby boy, and every room still carried the excitement and anticipation of this brand-new chapter.
Their adorable French Bulldog was just as curious as the new parents, happily following us from room to room while keeping a watchful eye on his newest family member. It’s always a joy when pets are included in an at-home newborn session because they are such an important part of the family’s story.
The soft morning fog filtered beautifully through the windows, filling the home with gentle, natural light. Instead of rushing through posed images, we embraced the slow rhythm of the morning. Their son spent most of the session peacefully snuggled in his parents’ arms, occasionally stretching before drifting back to sleep. Those tiny fingers wrapped around Mom’s hand and the proud smiles exchanged between new parents are the moments I love preserving most.
