There is something incredibly special about returning to a family’s home and witnessing another beautiful chapter of their story unfold. As a Mountain View newborn photographer, I feel so fortunate when families invite me back to document these precious milestones.
Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing a cosy and relaxed at-home newborn session for a wonderful family I have worked with before. Years ago, I documented the arrival of their firstborn daughter, and later captured the excitement and anticipation of their second pregnancy. This time, I was welcomed back to celebrate the newest member of the family—a sweet baby boy.
From the moment I stepped through the door, the atmosphere was filled with warmth, love, and quiet joy. Big sister was eager to show me her new baby brother, proudly sitting beside him and showering him with gentle affection. These natural interactions are what make in-home sessions so meaningful. There is no rush, no pressure—just authentic moments unfolding in the comfort of home.
The entire session was photographed on professional film, a medium I love for its timeless quality and ability to preserve the feeling of a moment. Film renders light, skin tones, and emotion in such a beautiful way, creating images that feel both nostalgic and deeply personal. It was the perfect choice for documenting this season of life—quiet, tender, and filled with connection.
Baby boy was calm and content throughout the session, happily snuggled in his parents’ arms and soaking up all the love surrounding him. The soft morning light streaming through the windows created the perfect backdrop for capturing those tiny details that parents never want to forget—little fingers, sleepy yawns, and the way he fit so perfectly in their embrace.
As a Mountain View newborn photographer, it is an incredible privilege to document not only a baby’s first days. But also a family’s growth over the years. Watching this family evolve from first-time parents to a family of four has been truly heartwarming.
Thank you for trusting me once again to preserve these memories. As a Mountain View newborn photographer, these lasting connections and stories are what make this work so rewarding.
