As a photographer, one of the most rewarding parts of my work is watching families grow through the years. This Bay Area summer family session was particularly special, as I’ve had the honor of photographing this sweet family since their daughter was just a few months old. From our first session under the canopy of old oaks, to her first birthday surrounded by roses, and then the beach adventure last year—each session has captured a beautiful chapter in their story.
This time, we explored a historical garden in full summer bloom. It was the perfect backdrop for a Bay Area summer family session—a maze of lush greenery, blooming hydrangeas, and secret paths leading to quiet corners and storybook ponds. Their daughter twirled between the flowers, peeked around ivy-covered gates, and played with the lily pads in a miniature pond with pure delight.
Mom and daughter wore matching cream and blue floral dresses, adding a soft, elegant touch to the vibrant garden setting. Dad looked effortlessly polished in a blue button-down and dress pants, perfectly complementing the scene.
To preserve the timelessness of this moment, I used professional film, which always gives skin tones a natural glow and brings an instant feeling of nostalgia to every frame. There’s something magical about the way film captures light and emotion—it felt especially fitting for such a charming, storybook-like setting.
This Bay Area summer family session was a dreamy combination of meaningful connection, playful exploration, and stunning natural beauty. It’s an honor to continue documenting their journey, and I can’t wait to see where the next chapter takes us.
