There’s something incredibly meaningful about returning to a place that holds part of your story. This recent Filoli session was exactly that for this sweet young family. Their Filoli spring family photoshoot marked a beautiful new chapter as they celebrated their baby girl’s upcoming first birthday in the same gardens where mom and dad once took their engagement portraits.
Spring had transformed the estate into a dream backdrop. Cherry blossom trees framed the walkways with soft pink blooms, the rose garden was beginning to burst with color. Every corner overflowed with lush greenery. It was the perfect setting for documenting such a tender season of life. Watching this little family revisit a meaningful location — now with their daughter in their arms — made this Filoli spring family photoshoot feel even more emotional and special.
Mom carefully chose the most delicate butter yellow dress for her little girl, and it could not have been more perfect for the gardens in bloom. She truly looked like the prettiest flower in the entire estate. Mom wore a romantic cream dress that moved beautifully in the spring breeze. While dad’s neutral and classic outfit tied everything together effortlessly. Their wardrobe complemented the soft tones of the gardens and created a timeless, elegant look throughout the session.
One of my favorite parts of photographing families is seeing how locations become part of their story over time. This Filoli spring family photoshoot was filled with joy, nostalgia, and so much love for the season they are in right now. These are the moments that deserve to be remembered — tiny giggles, little hands reaching for mom and dad, and the beauty of spring surrounding them every step of the way.
