There is something incredibly special about watching a family grow over the years. As a San Francisco Family Photographer, one of the greatest joys of my work is returning to photograph familiar faces as they welcome new chapters into their lives. This summer session at the historic gardens was especially meaningful because I had the honor of meeting the family’s newest addition—a beautiful baby girl.
The gardens were overflowing with summer beauty, creating the perfect backdrop for this joyful season of life. Colorful hydrangeas, fragrant roses, and lush greenery surrounded us as we wandered through the pathways, letting the girls explore and simply enjoy being together. Mom looked absolutely radiant in a flowing peach floral gown, while Dad complemented her perfectly in a navy jacket with tan-colored slacks. Their two older daughters wore matching ivory lace dresses, and the newest little sister stole every heart in her adorable peach summer romper.
The sweetest moments always happen in between the poses. The older sisters couldn’t stop doting on their baby sister, making her giggle with silly games and gentle kisses. Her toothless smile lit up every frame, while Mom and Dad looked on with the unmistakable expression of parents soaking in these fleeting years. As a San Francisco Family Photographer, these genuine interactions are exactly what I hope to preserve for every family I photograph.
Every image from this session was captured on professional film, allowing the softness of the light and the richness of the summer colors to become part of the story. Film has a beautiful way of preserving not only what a moment looked like, but how it felt. Years from now, I hope these photographs will transport this family back to this warm summer afternoon—to the laughter, the tiny smiles, and the overwhelming love that filled the historic gardens. Moments like these are why I love being a San Francisco Family Photographer.
